Portland's neighborhood associations are served by five, independent non-profit District Coalition Offices and two city-run District Offices. The independent non-profit coalitions receive grants from the Office of Neighborhood Involvement to facilitate community member participation services and related neighborhood crime prevention activities for the neighborhood associations and community members within a geographically defined area. The board of each coalition is primarily composed of representatives from its member neighborhood associations. The two city-run district offices (East Portland Neighborhood Office and North Portland Neighborhood Services) provide similar services to their neighborhood associations and community members.
